On the Eve of War

May 2nd, 2017

You have watched for millennia hearing our wishes & our hurts, knowing full well the extent of our atrocities
How your heart must burn, must overflow, has overflown with love for us
Your children / we demanded
Took without asking your most precious of gifts and knowledge
So many millennia ago & have refused largely to ask you how it works
or how to use it but you have been patient while we have wrecked each item in your home
Still the birds sing,
still the trees grow
Eden’s not gone; just been postponed
Still we bomb it with drones
Please forgive us. I won’t do it again but I know that I shall
Lord if there is one righteous Man live or yet to come,
Preserve that One, though I know that you already will
